Center of Excellence in Logistics & Technology
(LOGTECH)
The Center of Excellence in Logistics & Technology (LOGTECH) enables and energizes participants to improve current operations and accelerate adoption of future logistics capabilities throughout their organizations. Through its integrated programs and sustained opportunities for “shoulder to shoulder” interaction between the military, private sector, and academic communities, LOGTECH provides a dynamic and unique educational experience.
Many of the military’s top leaders in the logistics, technology and acquisition fields have attended LOGTECH programs. The U.S. Army Materiel Command is the DoD Executive Agent for LOGTECH, which serves the uniformed and civilian personnel of the DoD, DoD agencies, all the military services, as well as the joint commands and members of the Department of Homeland Security.
Since 2001, the Center of Excellence in Logistics and Technology (LOGTECH) Programs have brought together key military officials, DoD executives, academic thought leaders, and senior private sector participants to explore crucial and timely issues in logistics, supporting technologies, and business practices in an enriching learning environment. LOGTECH offerings include executive education offerings, the LOGTECH MBA, forums, and research.
LOGTECH’s Executive Education programs are conducted in a first-class educational setting conducive to dynamic and meaningful interaction with top tier instructors and fellow participants who are logistics leaders in their own right. Faculty members from the University of North Carolina (UNC) with its nationally-ranked Kenan-Flagler Business School and 16 campus system, other leading universities, and private sector presenters bring unprecedented knowledge, insight, and real-world “business” experience to LOGTECH programs.
Two levels of executive education programs are offered. The Program for Executives in Logistics and Technology is for Flag level military officers (O-6 by exception), Senior Executive Service (SES) civilians, and senior level corporate executives. The Program in Advanced Logistics and Technology is for O-4 to O-6 grade military officers, GS 13-15 (GS 12 by exception) DoD civilians, and private sector participants at the vice-president/regional director level.
The LOGTECH MBA is delivered by two of the nation’s leading business schools, the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and Kenan-Flager. This innovative program combines content-rich, online learning with four in-residency periods, three in Chapel Hill, NC and one overseas. All the elements combine for a powerful learning experience and unique career development opportunity for up-and-coming leaders in the logistics arena.
LOGTECH has also supported the Focused Logistics conference series, sponsored principally by the Royal United Services Institute and Defense Events Management, Ltd., in London, the U.K., which enhances the multinational dimension to LOGTECH’s “shoulder to shoulder” interaction with major domestic and international logistics players.
To date, over 2000 participants completed LOGTECH’s Executive, Advanced, and MBA programs. Hundreds more have joined in our forums, conferences, and research efforts. The network of LOGTECH alumni and colleagues continue to communicate and learn from each other through internal forums such as this web site.
